I am a social consultant from America living in Astana, Kazakhstan for the time being. My wife is Kazakh and we’re quite happy here though some day I will need to get back to my homeland of decent cheeseburgers and coffee shops on every corner. In the meantime I am having a great time and learning a lot about life and culture here and trying to see as much of Central Asia as I can.

I’ve been an enthusiastic photographer since I got my first camera on my ninth birthday though I love learning more about the craft. I’ve owned more cameras than I can count. Currently I shoot primarily with a Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS. It’s got great zoom, which is important here because people tend to be a bit camera shy!

I’m almost almost entirely self-taught. I hope this site and feedback will help me become a better artist. I’ve already learned quite a bit.
